One of my roommates Chris is from Holland.
He went back home early this week because his daddy was very sick.
Last night the rest of us in the house were talking about sending his faster something to bring our best wishes.
Flower, we think some colorful flowers will bring him a nice day, and so he will get back soon.
So I talked to Chris on MSN to get his address in the Netherlands.
He asked me why? I said that we wanted to send his father some flowers.
He replied, "no, he is not dead yet."

| | Snow Kiting is FUN! [2006-1-8] |
I am trying snow kiting these days, and I find it is great fun!
Basically you hold a GIANT kite in the (frozen) lake. You can stand on something, such as snow board, ski, or even ice skate. Then鈥︹€縰se the power from the kite to get lighting speed on the ice!!!! Well, I guess a picture will make more sense.
Those kites are pretty different from what I had when I was young. They have three lines, two halters and one safety line. I hold a bar which has the two bridals on each side and have the safety belt attached with my body. To steer the kite up on the sky, I punch/pull the bar. I need to keep the kite in the 鈥渨ind window"which is the hemispheroidal area I am facing. It sounds easy right? But, it is not quite no-brainier. The size of the kites could go from 3 squire meters to 20 squire meters!!!! I tried the 4 squire meter one. This guy just catches up the wind so fast and generates amazing power!! Couple of times I felt I would be lifted up from the ground. Actually that is supposed to be one exciting part of kiting :p
Last but not lest, if you want to try, remember to have your helmet, knee caps and all kinds of protector gears on!!!

| Got this Audiovox XM satellite radio couple of days ago. After playing around it for a while I find it is a pretty cool toy. A picture first.
First I couldn鈥檛 get any signal. From the manual I found that the silly radio will work only when the antenna is facing south sky directly =.=. No wonder it didn鈥檛 work in door. Then I stick this pretty creative antenna out of my window, whoa la~~~~~~~~ It finally picked up 2 bars.

| Today Mike, a Vietnam War veteran, came to our dinner and later gave us a presentation about their helping project in Vietnam.
His opinion is pretty easy to follow: this country always needs to set up an enemy. Before it was communism and now it is terrorist in the Middle East. Young kids and their passion were used as tools to achieve something they do not know. As Mike, after so many years, he still cannot forgive the government. He would not have been to Vietnam if he could make the decision again.

Cannot believe there is only 2 more weeks left in this semester. I still remember couple of weeks ago I was complaining that I didn抰 notice half of the semester was passed. ---- now,, it is almost all gone!!!! However, I am kind of tired anyways. Need a break,, need more time to prepare the coming recruiting season,, need to have fun with snow,, need to make some pocket $$,, need to厖.. study for final exams first :p
Btw,, did I mention that the city has been covered by snow for more than a week already.. Good news? Bad news?
